My most recent sales/bus dev role was at Tugboat Logic, and OneTrust, as a business development representative. Tugboat Logic, a startup that later on got acquired by OneTrust, offered a software solution that helped businesses achieve security compliance with certifications like SOC2, ISO270001, GDPR etc. through automation. OneTrust is a GRC privacy and cybersecurity software provider.
My role involved market research and prospecting, lead generation, cold outreach, relationship building with key decision makers at prospective companies, understanding compliance/certifications, and building sales cadences for different regions / target markets (UK/Ireland, North America, EMEA).
Tools I used during this role were Salesforce CRM, Outreach, Salesloft, Crunchbase, LinkedIn SalesNavigator, and ZoomInfo. Also Google Suite, Slack, and Microsoft Suite.
I really enjoyed this role, and got the opportunity to connect with loads of wonderful people.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Developed and executed a daily lead generation outbound activity process, resulting in 144% quota attainment (Q1) and 109% quota attainment (Q2).
Collaborated with colleagues to initiate new sales cadence informed by ZoomInfo and Salesforce customer data, increasing open rates by 30%.
Built and maintained business relationships with key decision makers at prospect commercial companies through cold outreach and constant follow up, leading to $17000+ in revenue generation.
Generated 40+ leads at the Startup Grind conference in San Francisco through in-person business development and networking.

Door-To-Door Sales Representative - Telus + GoSales Apr 2021 - Oct 2021
My first sales role was a door-to-door one, through which I sold Telus home security, automation, and mobility solutions.
Surprisingly, this is the job that ignited my love for sales. I was forced to step outside of my comfort zone and pitch homeowners at their doors. It was extremely difficult at first, but it quickly turned into a fun and rewarding job - one where I talked to new people every single day, had great conversations, felt a sense of community with my colleagues, and felt like I was helping people feel more secure in their homes.
The main qualities I cultivated from this role are persistence and grit. Facing constant rejection honed my resilience and forced me to grow thick skin, fostering a tenacity that has been invaluable in other professional endeavours and personal projects.
If I could encourage everybody to work a door-to-door summer job once in their lives, I would. It's one of those experiences you think you will dread, but end up growing and developing in unexpected ways. I also made some interesting connections at doors, including meeting the mayor of Milton right at his doorstep.
